Composer's Program Notes

Composer's Program Notes: In January 2006, I was offered a commission by the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, Boston, MA, to write a short march to be premiered in 2007. In September 2006, I wrote the song with the intention of it being very carefree and simple. I later scored the march for a concert band, and named it "Carefree Cacophony" for its carefree spirit and occasional dissonances (hence "Cacophony"). The march is filled with trills and awkward chords and melodies. I hope you enjoy the march.
